FORMIVIA

(to be redesigned)

ANATOMY

Formivia are insect-like, but much bigger than actual insects. Their height varies from about half a meter to more than one and a half, large enough to be ridden. They have clearly segmented bodies, vaguely similar to an ant's, covered by a hard exoskeleton. Formivia heads are slightly elongated but round with no clear snout, and have one or two pairs of antennae at the top, the shape of which varies. They have compound eyes that look similar to simple eyes – the actual eyes are the "iris".

Formivia have fur which at most covers their abdomen, thorax, neck, and part of their head, and at least just one of those segments. Truly furless formivia are an extremely rare sight, however they occasionally simply shave their fur. They have quills in areas covered by fur, which contain toxins with various effects, depending on the formivia's diet. These quills usually come in very bright, warning colors.

LIFE

Formivia are omnivorous and eat anything, however various poisonous plants are an important part of their diet, as they're used to make the toxins in their quills. They naturally live in colonies, but they now prefer to live in regular Myvstrican cities.
